The Amazing Brentwood - Vancouver CA
To celebrate the 2024 Olympics and drive additional footfall to thier outdoor plaza, The Amazing Brentwood decided to broadcast the games there.
I was tasked with finding a way to create additional seating while getting thier clientelle excited about the event. The result is a series of playful game and seating modules that invite people to reclaim the plaza, disconnect and get directly get involved in the olympic spirit.

The Problem
The outdoor courtyard doesn’t have enough footfall
No clear way to advertise the client’s wish to broadcast the Olympics
Not enough seating to entice people to watch the games there
The Solution
Create game modules to drastically enhance footfall and get people in the Olympic Spirit
Create playful seating modules to double the amount of dwell areas
Create a sport themed branding & wayfinding to draw attention to the event’s broadcasting

These modules were designed to feel like a playful dialogue with the outdoor plaza’s linear geometry - as if parts of the paving had extruded into bursts of vibrant colour, disrupting and enlivening the rigid grid.
